Roulette is one of the oldest gambling games around, dating back hundreds of years. While the game seems to be based purely on chance, there are certain strategies and tricks you can use to maximize profits and minimize losses.

The numerous even-money bets in roulette have inspired many players over the years to attempt to beat the game by using different systems. The most popular variations are of the Martingale betting strategy, wherein you double the bet after every loss, so that the first win would recover all previous losses, plus win a profit equal to the original bet.

The problem with this strategy is that, remembering that past results do not affect the future, it is possible for you to lose so many times in a row, that while doubling and redoubling your bets you  either run out of money or hit the table limit.

Another strategy is the Fibonacci system, where bets are calculated according to the Fibonacci sequence. Regardless of the specific progression, no such strategy can statistically overcome the casino's advantage, since the expected value of each allowed bet is negative.

There are a number of roulette systems available on the internet and you can find many of them listed in this section of RoulettePlanet.
